AutoSkill SpanishTutor for Academy of MATH wins District Administration
Top 100 Award
Readers choose their favorite products for 2007-08
Ottawa, February 25, 2008 – AutoSkill International, the leading provider of reading and math intervention solutions, has been honored with a Readers' Choice Top 100 Products award for Educational Software from District Administration magazine. SpanishTutor™ for the Academy of MATH® was selected by readers as their favorite product for improving math achievement in Spanish-speaking English Language Learners.
Introduced in January 2007, SpanishTutor is an optional module for the Academy of MATH, which builds computational fluency in 10 skill areas that align to NCTM standards. Training in the program prepares students for success in higher-order mathematics, such as Algebra I. With SpanishTutor tutorials are presented in the students' native language, allowing students to better understand concepts and progress through training with instruction provided in a familiar way. Practice and training exercises are delivered in English, enabling students to build important academic language skills. Motivational characters offer positive feedback and support in Spanish, while neutral enunciation and generic accents make it ideal for all Spanish-speaking students. SpanishTutor is also available with the Academy of READING.
