AutoSkill Announces Exclusive Sponsorship of District Administration Awards

First-ever X-Factor Student Achievement Awards challenges districts to submit innovative ideas for improving student scores.

Deadline extended to June 30!

Ottawa, April 12, 2007 – AutoSkill International Inc. today announced its exclusive sponsorship of the inaugural District Administration X-Factor Student Achievement Awards, launching in this month’s issue of District Administration magazine. The innovative awards program challenges educators to demonstrate their “X Factor” by submitting creative ideas for improving student scores in their district. The grand prize winner will receive $30,000 towards implementing their program.

“We wanted to generate fresh perspectives on raising student achievement at the district level,” says Odvard Egil Dyrli, Editor-in-Chief of District Administration magazine. “By partnering with AutoSkill International, we were able to create an awards program with a truly entrepreneurial spirit, one that actually provides seed capital for a district to jump-start a new initiative.”

Districts can submit a pilot program concept for a single student group, class or school, as long as it can easily be applied across the district. Entrants will be judged by the editorial board of District Administration, based on criteria such as scale, speed, practicality and measurable results.

“AutoSkill is thrilled to be part of the X-Factor Award program,” says Susan Koch, vice-president of marketing at AutoSkill International. “Working with our customers over the years, we’ve seen incredible commitment and vision from educators in their ongoing efforts to improve academic outcomes for their students. This program provides both a forum to share new ideas and the financial means to test the winning concept in a real-world classroom.”

Educators can submit their 300-word concepts online at www.districtadministration.com/xfactor. District Administration will be accepting applications until June 30, 2007. The winner and honorable mentions will be profiled in the September issue of District Administration magazine.
