Ottawa, ON – January 9, 2006 - AutoSkill International is proud to announce that Dr. Elliot Loh has been invited by the Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network to participate on its Research Management Committee. As part of this commitment, Dr. Loh will provide advice on ways to increase the impact of research on children's language and literacy development in Canada.

“AutoSkill is an award-winning Canadian company that creates educational products reflecting scientific knowledge. Our organizations share the objective of improving language and literacy development,” said Donald G. Jamieson, CEO and Scientific Director, Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network. “Inviting Dr. Loh to advise us on our research programs is a natural way to help us meet this joint objective.”

Since joining AutoSkill in 2003, Dr. Loh has been responsible for the planning, implementation and data analysis of research and field efficacy studies, and is the primary liaison with the Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network. Prior to joining AutoSkill, Dr. Loh was a senior research associate for the Canadian Pharmacists' Association, and was previously a senior project manager and business analyst for CogniCase Corporation. “AutoSkill is clearly dedicated to working with key research centers,” said Dr. Elliot Loh, Manager of Research and Efficacy Studies, AutoSkill International Inc. “It is an honour to work closely with the Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network. The organization does an exceptional job of facilitating knowledge transfer between academic communities and the private sector.”

Dr. Loh will work with the Research Management Committee on the following initiatives

  • Identifying opportunities and needs for research investment;
  • Identifying criteria and process for reviewing Network research proposals;
  • Recommending adjustments to The Network's Research Program, including initiating new projects, terminating projects, adding new Network Investigators, and allocating funds to research projects;
  • Facilitating participation in Network activities, including communications and knowledge transfer; and
  • Identifying Network research, which could beneficially influence public policy, educational/clinical practice, and/or public attitudes and activities.
