Busy Educators Gain an "Advantage" From Timely Reporting of Student Achievement

The new "AutoSkill Advantage Program" ensures success with students who need help with basic literacy skills.

Oct. 7, 2003

OTTAWA, ON – Educators are under increased pressure to demonstrate tangible student progress in basic literacy skills. Literacy-solutions developer, AutoSkill International today announced a new accountability aid: the Advantage Program, a comprehensive service, support and reporting program designed to meet the needs of busy school and district administrators who need timely access to data about individual student performance.

The Advantage Program ensures that schools have an efficient and reliable implementation of the Academy of READING® and Academy of MATH®, popular software-based solutions for helping students who have fallen behind in basic skills. The program is designed to facilitate permanent learning gains and to make it easier to communicate progress reports to teachers, parents, and government agencies.

“I am impressed with the Advantage Program because it will help us recognize ways to adjust our approach so we can more quickly reach the reading gains we hope to achieve. AutoSkill continues to deliver the kinds of tools and resources we need to help us do our jobs better and more efficiently,” said Blanche Jones, District Federal Programs Coordinator, Walthall County, MS.

The Advantage Program includes customized reports, interim and year-end data analysis, consultations, and expert recommendations. These help educators quickly see individual student achievement, compare progress of classes and entire schools, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure second semester gains.

Reports and analyses include the following:

  • Achieved gains at the school, class, and individual levels
  • Suggested areas for improvement to realize higher gains
  • Detailed program usage levels

“The Advantage Program gives principals and district administrators the insight they need to do a better job of helping each student, and gives them an efficient, effective means to communicate progress,” said Peter Eddison, AutoSkill CEO. “Educators have to respond to the federal No Child Left Behind accountability and reporting mandates while managing overwhelming workloads. The Advantage Program will help them save time and resources while monitoring student progress in reading and math.”
