POSITION: Senior Java Developer
SUMMARY: Reporting to the VP of Product Development, the incumbent will be responsible for the design and development of AutoSkill application components.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop client side applications using Java
- Design, implement, maintain and unit test client-based components
- Provide leadership in the design of the application architecture and development technologies
- Write design specifications
- Participate in overall planning of development projects
- Interact with the Quality Assurance group to ensure common testing strategy
KEY QUALFICIATIONS:
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline combined with a minimum of 10 years of application software development experience
- 2-4 years of experience with J2EE technologies
- Experience with server side development and browser based UI development including XML, Web Services, Servlets, SQL, HMTL and JavaScript
- Experience with JBoss, Struts, JSP, and Flash would be a definite asset
- Strong analytical skills
- A passion for quality
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize workload
- Ability to provide leadership and mentorship to junior developers
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
