POSITION: Junior Java Developer
SUMMARY: Reporting to the VP of Product Development, the incumbent will be responsible for the development of AutoSkill application components.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and unit test new software
- Debug and fix bugs during stabilization of the software
- Write design documents and functional specifications
- Participate in design and code reviews
- Review and understand the modification changes required, write and/or review specifications for the modification, write code to meet the requirements in the specification
KEY QUALFICIATIONS:
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline combined with a minimum of 1+ years of application software development experience
- 1-3 years of experience with J2EE technologies
- Experience with server side development and browser based UI development including XML, Web Services, Servlets, SQL, HMTL and JavaScript
- Experience with JBoss, Struts, JSP, and Flash would be a definite asset
- Strong creative design skills and the ability to translate analysis into creative and innovative product solutions
- A strong sense of responsibility and initiative
- A strong desire to learn and improve
- Excellent deductive reasoning and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of formal development methodologies, including knowledge of use cases, requirement analysis
